Snake skin may not be the most original design but I've never done one before and today seemed like the perfect opportunity. I was super happy about this manicure until I showed it to my mother who said 'That's nice, I wish I could make such a pretty honeycomb pattern'. Honeycomb? Seriously, a bloody honeycomb?! I think we all know what I'm getting my mum for Christmas (Yes, I said the 'C' word).
I started with the vertical gradient using three Models Own polishes, Sarong Wrap*, Turquoise Gloss* and Flip Flop*. I struggled a bit with the snake skin stamp because my nails are quite long now and the pattern was too small. See the crock/snake skin pattern on the left hand side? I stamped it on half of my nail and then picked it up again, turned the stamper around and applied it on the other half. It was a bit fiddly but I used a Clear Jelly Stamper* (reviewed HERE) to make sure I could see what I was doing and place the pattern exactly where I wanted it. I sealed my design with a layer of Glisten&Glow HK Girl top coat.
What do you guys think about it? This is the second time I've reached for bright green during this challenge. Check out my twist on B&W nails. I mean, what's happening to me?! Perhaps I'm just trying to hold on to summer? See you tomorrow xx
Great idea, I would have never of thought to do snake skin!

DeleteI love that neon green! It looks awesome standing out against the black. Very cool mani!
ReplyDeleteThank you, normally I'm not into green, especially bright green, but I think it works well with the black design too x
