MeeBox Review: Red Carpet

Can you believe it's been a month since my first ever MeeBox* landed on my doorstep? Time sure is flying! MeeBox is a subscription box for nail art addicts with a different theme every month and lots of goodies to go with it. Listen I like nail polish as much as the next girl but surely owning 200+ bottles makes me more of an enthusiast?<nervous laugh> Perhaps I'm in denial, I'll let you be the judge of that!  I absolutely loved last month's treats so much so, that I dedicated two separate posts for the review and nail art. The Red Carpet themed box is no different so here are the swatches and the nail art is coming in the next post!

When I think about red carpet I'm thinking glam and sparkle and clearly so do the three girls behind MeeBox! This is exactly what you're getting in the box. The theme this month is Red Carpet so of course you have to have a red polish! Not just any red polish though, it's Leighton Denny 'Feel the Burn*' (RRP £11).

It's a stunning creamy shade that my boyfriend compared to sun dried tomatoes. We don't usually agree on colour but...he got that spot on! It's a very warm colour that applies like a dream and dries really fast. I don't have anything quite like it in my collection. Here I'm wearing two coats and a top coat.

Next up is my favourite polish from the box, Nails Inc 'Chelsea Embankment'* (RRP £14). It's a yellow gold textured glitter that is opaque in two coats. I was actually astonished that it didn't need a base colour but the bottle is packed full of glitter so there was no need.

I am a little surprised I like this polish the most as I'm not a fan of a textured polish. It's usually scratchy and I find it chips easily. This one however was a lot smoother but it was the sparkle that really won me over. My nails looked like gems and I felt like a million bucks! Very red carpet appropriate!

The last polish in the box was Smith and Cult 'Porn-a-Thon'* (RRP £19). I was a little baffled by the shape of the bottle and as I was unfamiliar with the company my first thought was, why is there a foundation in my nail box?! I have to tell you though the bottle looks so luxurious and expensive I didn't even have to google anything to know this is a high end brand. And don't worry, the golden cap comes off for an easy application.

It's very creamy, applies like a dream and you need two coats for perfect opacity. The formula is perfect and the brush, although long, doesn't pick up too much polish and flood your cuticles. I am so happy I got to try this premium brand!

On top of all these gorge polishes I also got three swatch sticks*, 50 gold square studs* and a 10% discount code* (RRP £1.50) from Sparkly Nails. The perfect accessory for spicing up any design! I like the fact that the studs are pretty much the same gold shade as the Nails Inc 'Chelsea Embankment'*. I sometimes get a bit OCD about mixing different golds in the same mani!

Did you know that five lucky subscribers also got a Chanel Rouge Noir on top worth £18?! Honestly the value of this box is insane! It's about £45.50 and that's without the Chanel polish. MeeBox is £20 or less depending on your subscription plan.

What do you guys think about the Red Carpet MeeBox? It's got the red, the elegance and the sparkle so for me it fits the theme perfectly. You can find out all the details about MeeBox and subscribe here
